About Sogang University
Sogang University, the only Jesuit higher education institution in Seoul, Korea, was established in 1960 to provide an education based on Catholic beliefs, in conformity with Korean education traditions.
In spite of its relatively short history, Sogang University has established its place as one of the top universities in Korea. There are 27 departments within 9 colleges offered in the undergraduate program compromised of 8,000 students and 418 full-time, tenure-track professors. There are 12 graduate schools, including professional and special graduate schools, with a student enrollment of 4,000 in the master’s and doctoral programs.
Currently, Sogang has joint academic agreements with over 370 partner universities in 65 countries, including Catholic and Jesuit universities. The university hosts about 300 incoming exchange students and sends 200 outgoing exchange students per semester. Sogang offers various high-quality international programs for international students, such as the International Summer Program, Korean Language Programs, STEM Lab Internship Program, Service Learning Program, and other customized short-term programs.
As a leading research university, Sogang strives to foster international research collaboration through faculty and scholar exchange programs, and has dual and joint degrees in signature programs with leading international partners.
